Introduction

So...I'm Catrina Mitchum, and I'm in this class because it falls directly where my interests lie: technology and comp. I currently teach all online courses and want to make sure I have some of the theoretical background to support what I'm doing as well as learn technologies I'm unfamiliar with. A goal of mine is to have a nice collection of possibilities to work with and the resources to make sure I stay updated. I feel like it's going to be impossible to keep up with everything that comes out, and I honestly don't want to. I just want to be able to try new ones as they come and keep the ones that will be useful to me rhetorically.

As far as interesting stuff about me goes, I suppose that depends on what you find interesting :) So here's a brief list of things: I'm the oldest of 7. My eyes change color (sometimes they're green and sometimes they're blue). I live in Hawaii. I'm taking vocal lessons; it's something I enjoy to let off some steam. Monday will start the third phase of P90X for me, and yes it's kicking my butt.

  1. Hey, Catrina. I enjoyed reading your intro, and, yes, we do have MD together. Wow, Hawaii! My husband and I were married in Kauai, and we, of course, were convinced that we needed to move there right away... didn't happen though. :) Hey, and I'm the oldest of 10; big families rule! Look forward to working with you, and thanks for all the correspondence regarding note taking, etc.

  2. Sarah,

My husband and I were married on Oahu and also were convinced we had to move here. It took almost five years, but we eventually got the billet. I love being in a big family. I think it's prepared me for any craziness I might encounter :) No problem. I expect we'll be bouncing ideas, etc. off our group for awhile.

  3. You live in Hawaii!? I am so jealous! Since I took up my snorkeling hobby I have been wanting to go to three places: the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, The Florida Keys, and, of course, Hawaii. What is your favorite part about living there? Do you miss the states?

  4. Hey Amanda,

I love it here. I love having so many outdoor activities to do, and always being able to find something different. Don't know if I can pick a favorite part though. I do miss the mainland sometimes, but mostly because my family there.
